Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum have moved on personally and are now seeking to move on legally. The Blast reports the ex-couple has filed to become legally single.

The outlet obtained legal documents where Tatum and Dewan are seeking to bifurcate the status of their ongoing divorce. This means that while they’d continue to negotiate a settlement on finances and the custody of their daughter Everly, they would be able to marry other people. Dewan and Tatum aren’t the only celebrity couple to do this in a divorce case this year: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did it too. Although Pitt and Jolie have been legally single since April this year, their divorce still hasn’t been finalized. (Having lots of money and shared properties complicates everything.)

The news of Dewan and Tatum filing to become single comes shortly after Dewan announced her pregnancy with her new boyfriend Steve Kazee.

Dewan spoke to People about falling for Kazee. She said when they reconnected, she was coming "out of my grief tunnel" after she announced her separation with Tatum. “I had kind of come to terms with, ‘Okay, I need to accept that I need to start a new life.’ I had no idea what I was looking for, and I was not at all looking for any kind of relationship,” she said. “It was nothing I was looking for, but it was everything I needed, if that makes sense.”

As for her split from Tatum, Dewan told People that “I always say no one gets married to hopefully get divorced. People grow and they change and sometimes they don’t grow and change together. So it wasn’t a overnight thing that happened. There was no one event. I think it was just a slow realization that we wanted different things.”

Tatum is now dating singer Jessie J.
