As the former president and creative director of J. Crew and living embodiment of the J.Crew woman, Jenna Lyons cultivated a trademark style that pairs the brand's preppy aesthetic with bold prints and vibrant colors. Leopard and seersucker! Pink lipstick and houndstooth!
Lyons left her post at J. Crew in April of last year. She'd been with the company for a staggering 27 years. After all those years she'd amassed quite the closet. And now she's parting with some of her most treasured pieces - a mix of J.Crew classics and designer wares - on the fashion industry's favorite resale site, TheRealReal.
"I have lived and breathed clothes for the past 31 years," Lyons said of the clothes she's selling. "Four of them in college, 27 with J.Crew and Madewell. I love clothes. I’ve collected for years."
Still, it was time to part with them.
"Each piece represents a memory, an event marked," she continued. "I found myself holding on to the clothes for the meaning and not spending enough time actually wearing them. My body has changed ]]>😩
