Relatable Jennifer Lawrence Is a ‘Psychotic Dog Mom’ Who Finds Fashion Week Intimidating

Jennifer Lawrence is a lot like her fellow 26-year-olds. She’s obsessed with Beyoncé’s Lemonade, loves Bravo reality shows, drinks wine like it’s water, and finds fashion frightening. However, what sets her apart is that the actress, who appears on the December cover of Vanity Fair, has met Beyoncé in real life and can confirm that the singer “looks like she was sent directly from heaven,” texts Andy Cohen directly for Real Housewives gossip, is restricting her alcohol intake because she’s set to play a Russian ballerina turned spy in a movie directed by Francis Lawrence, and is a Dior ambassador who sits front row at Paris Fashion Week.

Despite what makes her remarkable (like becoming one of the few female stars to get a $20 million paycheck for a single film), she’s still refreshingly relatable. For example, despite walking red carpets in couture and having stylists dress her in fancy wares, she still finds Paris Fashion Week to be “the most intimidating time to be alive. You get ready in your hotel, and you’re like, ‘I look awesome.’ Then you walk outside, see the outfits and people who are like seven feet tall, and are like, I am a piece of garbage. I’m not going out anymore.’ ”

She’s also a great friend (Lawrence counts Emma Stone as one of her closest confidantes, describing her as “normal and lovely”) and hates participating in weddings. “All of my friends are getting married and having babies,” she told the magazine. “Weddings rock, but I will never be a bridesmaid again,” she stated, having served as a maid four times already. “There needs to be a bridesmaids’ union. It’s horrendous. If anyone asks me again, I’m going to say, ‘No. That part of my life is over. I appreciate the ask.’ If I do ever get married, I don’t think I will have bridesmaids. How can I rank my friends?”

But if she had to pick a maid of honor, it’d probably be her dog, Pippi Longstocking, who travels with her everywhere. Lawrence’s mother even commissioned one of the actress’s teenage fans to make a portrait of the pup, which the Passengers star was gifted for Christmas. After being embarrassed of the painting, she finally accepted it and hung it above her fireplace. “F*** it. I am the person who has an acrylic painting of her dog,” she admitted. “I am a psychotic dog mom in a way that I am genuinely embarrassed about. If I could put her inside me and give birth to her I would.”
