Jeremy Clarkson has joked that he doesn’t want to get too fat in case he has to use an MRI meant for horses.

The Grand Tour star has recently had a check-up and it seems it made him think about keeping his weight under control.

He told The Sun: “I spent two hours in an MRI. They play videos to you now — I watched the whole of Iron Man. They give you headphones and project it on to these goggles. And while I did, they looked at every single bone and everything inside me. So that was good.”

But the TV star — who has taken up farming in recent years — quipped: “What I am really worried about is that if you get really fat, you have to use a horse MRI at the vets.”

The presenter used to be a smoker but quit four years ago, after suffering a bout of pneumonia and being admitted to hospital during a family holiday in Majorca.

The following year he told his fans on Twitter that he was doing just fine without cigarettes in his life.

However, the 61-year-old did say that he gained some weight after kicking the habit.
