Jessica Mulroney has made what appears to be her first reference to Meghan Markle since she returned to Instagram, following a row over white privilege.

Mulroney, one of Meghan’s closest friends when she was working as an actor in Canada, shared an image of Meghan walking down the aisle at St George’s Chapel on her wedding day in 2018.

One of Mulroney’s sons can be seen in the background grinning as he helps carry the bride’s train down the aisle.

According to Yahoo Australia, Mulroney first captioned the image “When I feel dark and grey, I see this and it all goes away," but later updated it to "I see this and pure joy."

Mulroney took a few months away from Instagram after she was accused of white privilege by blogger Sasha Exeter.

Exeter accused Mulroney of “textbook white privilege” in June, posting a 12-minute video on Instagram claiming Mulroney “took offence” to her call to action for people to join the Black Lives Matter movement.

Exeter said: “What happened next was a series of very problematic behaviour and antics that ultimately resulted in her (Mulroney) sending me a threat in writing.”

The incident led to Mulroney having her show cancelled. She said in an Instagram post that she had been “rightfully called out”.

CTV dropped Mulroney’s show I Do, Redo, and her husband, Ben Mulroney, son of former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney, ended up quitting one of his TV roles too, to make way for greater diversity.

The Mulroneys’ friendship with Meghan has since been the subject of unverified speculation in the tabloid press.

The pair used to appear frequently on each other’s Instagram pages, but Meghan deleted her account around the time her relationship with Prince Harry was confirmed.

The Mulroneys have since seemingly denied a rift, with Jessica branding the claims “fake news” in response to a comment left on one of her previous posts on Instagram. Mulroney’s husband flatly denied another report that Mulroney was calling Meghan non-stop and being met with silence.

The stylist returned to Instagram just over two weeks ago, sharing a post of her twin sons Brian and John, on their 10th birthday.

She wrote: “Happy 10th to my twin babies. My incredible family have had to witness their mom in the worst state. These two boys have not left my side and gave me the will to live and work hard when everything fell apart.

“They deserve the best birthday. Only up from here.”

Her children were part of the wedding party in 2018 when Meghan married Harry, with then seven-year-olds Brian and John acting as page boys, and then four-year-old Ivy as a bridesmaid.

The image shared on Thursday is the first time the royal has been pictured on the stylist’s profile since the white privilege row.

Since her return, Mulroney also shared an image which read “A quiet woman is at peace and about to change everything.”

The post was shared without a caption.

Meghan does not currently have a social media account, following the winding down of Sussex Royal, as she and Harry have not yet launched anything for their post-royal life.
