Jessica Simpson is looking better than ever lately. The mom of three (to Maxwell, 7, and Ace, 6, and baby Birdie Mae), gave birth last March, and recently revealed that she lost over 100 pounds.

Her trainer, Harley Pasternak, recently spoke with Us Weekly to share more details about how exactly she did it. Apparently, the focus was mainly on diet.

"It’s not about the workouts," he said. “You don’t lose weight doing biceps curls and lunges. You lose weight by changing your diet, hitting your step goal, working on your sleep … those were the things she did so well.”

He also shared that Jessica follows the principles of his 2013 book, The Body Reset Diet. She has three meals and two snacks a day with protein, fiber and healthy fat, and the main meals typically consist of foods high in protein (eggs, chicken and fish) with some veggies and fruit. For the two snack times, opt for high-fiber options like a handful of almonds and green beans topped with Parmesan cheese.

Reminder: Jessica Simpson has a huge net worth:

Jessica also completely cut out alcohol. “I am pretty sure she would not have been as incredibly successful in this physique transformation if she was drinking,” Pasternak said.

When it came to her workouts, Jessica is a huge fan of walking, and had a goal of 12,000 steps a day. She counted her steps using a Fitbit.

“I’m a big fan of making sure people have a Fitbit because it’s like a gym on your wrist anywhere you go.”
