Joe Buck didn’t listen to his wife, daughters and sister on ‘Celebrity Family Feud’ and it didn't end well

Hall-of-fame sportscaster Joe Buck found out the hard way Sunday, how going rogue on Celebrity Family Feud can end very badly. Buck, along with his wife, sister, and two daughters, were in a close game against the opposing team consisting of actor Oliver Hudson and some of his friends. And the Buck family had a chance to steal and win the game with the survey question: Name a woman in your life who’s smarter than you. And that’s when things started to go bad for Buck.

With the answers “My Bae,” “My Mom” and “My Sister” already on the board, the Buck family came to a consensus for what the fourth and final answer could be. But after the patriarch delivered his answer, “my best friend,” the rest of his family seemed confused.

After host Steve Harvey ran the answer up the board to discover that it indeed wasn’t there, he asked everyone what they thought it was. That’s when Buck’s daughter, Natalie, spoke up.

“It’s boss, we were gonna say ‘boss.’ But he--,” she said, shaking her finger at her father.

So the only way things could have gotten worse for Buck at that point, is if “My Boss” was on the board, which he begged for it not to be. But sure enough, there it was.

STEVE HARVEY: Well, Buck Family, here's the deal. We have one answer left and one answer only. If it's there, your family steals, your family wins the game.

- Oh my God.

STEVE HARVEY: That's it.

KYLIE MAR: On "Celebrity Family Feud," Sunday, a close game between Oliver Hudson and friends and Joe Buck and family came down to the survey question, name a woman in your life who's smarter than you. And that's when things started to go bad for Joe Buck and the women in his life.

- We're going to go with best friend.

[CROWD CHEERS]

- What? That's not what we're going with.

STEVE HARVEY: Woman in your life who's smarter than you. This is your best friend. Oh, mother-in-law.

KYLIE MAR: As some watching pointed out on Twitter, this was actually Joe's second time appearing to go rogue against his wife and daughters and sister only to be wrong. And as the recent "Jeopardy" guest host learned the hard way, he wasn't just wrong about this one, he was really wrong.

- It's boss. We were going to say boss.

- We were going to say boss.

- But he-- mm-hmm.

STEVE HARVEY: Oh, he [INAUDIBLE]. Joe, you better hope--

JOE BUCK: Please don't be up there.

STEVE HARVEY: Oh, Joe.

JOE BUCK: God, please don't be up there.

STEVE HARVEY: Four.

- Oh.

KYLIE MAR: Viewers had plenty to say about Joe's disastrous move on Twitter, including one person who said, name a woman in your life that is smarter than you, your wife, daughters, and sister. That was hard to watch. To which Joe actually replied, tweeting, I don't need a game show to tell me that. Ha ha ha. Always known. And that's why I brought up. We were going to say teacher then that got an X. Our consensus was weak. I actually went was my youngest daughter's answer. That's TV. Wahhh. It was a blast.

And while he may have claimed it was a blast, his family's reaction told a different story.

- I'm so mad.

- Oh, Joe. Oh, Joe. Oh.

[LAUGHTER]

- Steve, literally, I'm so mad. I'm so mad.

- We were in the huddle. And we all agreed on boss.

- Oh, I'm in pain.
