Dame Judi Dench on her 'disappointment' at not doing more sex scenes
Dame Judi Dench is acting royalty, with a career panning six decades and an incredible seven Oscar nominations including one win, but the star has admitted she has one “disappointment” when it comes to her career.
The 85-year-old can surely not have many of them, but she has revealed one regret is she has not done enough sex scenes.

The star told The Mirror: “I have done a few bed scenes. Not many in the theatre. What a disappointment.”
Despite this, Dench’s career has grown stronger and stronger as she had gotten older - she won her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress when she played Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare In Love and all her Academy nominations came after the age of 60.
With age obviously nothing but a number for the evergreen star, this month she broke a record when she became the oldest cover star of Vogue magazine.
Her daughter Finty Williams told British Vogue. “This age thing, I think, affects very much how she feels about herself and this gave her just that little boost of confidence to make her go, ‘Oh, maybe I’m still OK.’
“Then of course after the photoshoot, she came back literally thinking she was Beyonce.”
Despite her continued success and icon status, Dench is humble and put her success down to “luck”.
She said: “It’s really called luck. The whole business of theatre is suddenly being in the right place at the right time and by chance somebody will say, ‘That person might do.’

“It is not really to do with talent I don’t think. It just happens that you fall into the slot at that time.”
She also has advice for aspiring actors: “Go see as much theatre as you possibly can. I think it is very, very difficult. We are just lucky we are employed.”
