Kacey Musgraves Ditched Her Signature Dark Hair for "Golden Hour" Highlights

Throughout her career, Kacey Musgraves' hairstyles have been equally as memorable as her music.

The country singer's signature long, glossy, deep brunette hair regularly draws comparisons to '70s Cher, while her voluminous bouffant is reminiscent of country legend Dolly Parton.

Now, instead of looking to iconic female musicians for hair inspiration, Musgraves is channeling one of her own songs with her new "Golden Hour" hair color. Over the weekend, the singer debuted light brown hair with honey highlights on her Instagram Story.

Musgraves turned to her go-to hairstylist Giovanni Delgado to take her from almost-black to a warm light brown base. Then, Delgado added allover honey highlights to give the singer's hair a sun-kissed (or golden hour) effect.

"@giovannidelgado: El Maestro del Estilo," the singer wrote on one of her Instagram Story slides. In English this translates to "The Master of Style."

Later, in a well-lit car, Musgraves showed her fans how her new hair color is light, warm, and full of dimension. While her freshly-lifted hair is a big departure from her dark espresso brunette, this "Golden Hour" shade looks amazing with her waist-length cut and long, face-framing curtain bangs.
