Kacey Musgraves helps revive one-hour photo store: 'Thanks to you, we are still alive!'

Kacey Musgraves’s recent quest to find a quick photo shop in L.A. had a very happy ending.

The Grammy winner ended up in Tom’s One Hour Photo & Lab, a small shop in Koreatown that she fell in love with because of its quick service, yes, but also because it offers customers retro photo sessions. She, of course, posed for a session, then shared the results with her 1.6 million followers on Instagram.

Musgraves’s fun photos came with a peek at what goes into the photo shoots — the owner changing the backgrounds and snapping the pics himself — and a recommendation for others to visit the shop.

“Stop by, tell all your friends, and don’t forget to tag,” Musgraves told fans. “Let’s keep this charming business afloat!”

Musgraves explained that she’s already set up an Instagram account for the shop, @tomsonehourphotolab, which has racked up more than 25,900 followers in the two days that it’s existed.

Within hours, the owner’s son, who identified himself as Nick, publicly thanked Musgraves for helping the longtime business, which has suffered in recent years, attract attention and customers.

“Our family business has been slow since advancements in technology have put one hour photo and retro studio photography on a downward path,” wrote Nick, who identified himself as a fan of the singer. “But thanks to you and photography aficionados, we are still alive!”

Well, this was too much for Musgraves’s fans, many who said they planned to stop in at Tom’s for a photo shoot of their own.

“Changing his whole life,” one commenter wrote.

Another told Musgraves, “I loved you before this but now I even love you more now.”

Still another put a spin on a lyric from Musgraves’s song “Happy & Sad”: “This had me smiling with tears in my eyes.”

Someone else applauded Tom’s son for having “EXQUISITE TASTE.”
