The 34-year old actress recently spoke about her decision to tweet support for Eilish after pictures of the signer wearing a tank top and shorts while out in warm Los Angeles, Calif. surfaced. The ensemble, a change from Eilish’s usual baggy style, prompted body shaming from trolls. “Anyone reacting to @billieellish having a normal body has to take a hard look at themselves,” Dennings wrote on social media. “As someone who looked exactly like that at her age, it’d be nice for this unhealthy nonsense to f**k right off. She’s beautiful and normal goodbye!”

“Any woman in the spotlight is already under a tremendous amount of pressure and the internet is gross and awful and I hate it,” the Two Broke Girls star told Entertainment Tonight. “I don't know if it's because she's so young and it just feels so inappropriate for anyone to comment on any young person’s body. People forget themselves because the internet is this wall they can hide behind.”
Dennings added that the criticisms against Ellish brought back memories from her own experiences.
“I felt personally affronted by it because she's a beautiful young girl who is making unbelievable, earth-changing art,” Dennings said. “I mentioned in my tweet that I looked exactly like that when I was her age and I had a horrible time. Things have improved as far as body image for girls and boys and everybody —things are more inclusive now. But when I was growing up it was not like that. I hope people know that people are in their corner and that [body-shaming] is not okay.”
This is not the first time Dennings has spoken about body image. In a 2012 interview with the New York Times, she noted that she did not follow the advice given to her by casting agents early in her career who felt like she needed to tighten up her teeth, dye her hair, lose weight and get a tan.
