I’m thankful for Kate Hudson style inspiration. If your 20s are for shivering outside the club because a jacket would have ruined your look, the rest of your life is for embracing the wonders of practical dressing—and Hudson just wore a layered ensemble so perfect for fall that it warmed me up just looking at it.
Stepping out for a radio interview in London to promote her new Netflix movie Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the star paired a burnt orange silk skirt with a matching ribbed sweater and slouchy camel-colored suede boots. She threw a sherpa-lined leather jacket over the whole thing for an effect that says, “I know I’m in the UK, but it’s Thanksgiving back home so I’m wearing a whole feast.”
The rom-com queen left her blonde hair down and added silver hoops and a touch of lid tint, wisely not overdoing it on the face when the outfit is already doing so much. And is it just me or is this…exactly what Serena van der Woodsen would be wearing down the cobblestoned streets of London in November 2022? The original Gossip Girl was, after all, at its best when it combined Thanksgiving turkey with Upper East Side malarkey.
Sorry, ’tis the season to find any excuse to post that clip. Mm watcha sayyyyy.
Glass Onion has gotten incredible early reviews, but even if was a total dud, it would have been worth it for Kate Hudson’s return to red carpets and live events! Oh, we missed you and your cool Cali-girl style. She was dripping with sparkles at one of the movie’s premieres, where she talked about how fun it was to reunite with How to Lose a Guy In Ten Days costar Kathryn Hahn. I love them. I am officially warmed, inside and out.
