Kate Middleton looked lovely in a black-and-white gown by Roland Mouret at the UK premiere of Top Gun: Maverick. Eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed that the gown looked strikingly similar to an outfit worn by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands in 2017.

While the outfits are identical on top, Kate's was a gown and Maxima's was a jumpsuit. And, where Kate wore her hair down, pairing her Mouret gown with black pumps and a black clutch, Maxima opted for an updo, completing her Mouret jumpsuit with open-toed heels, and a striped clutch.

Both royal women, however, went for gorgeous sparkling dangle earrings, and a smokey eye makeup look.

While Kate altered her Roland Mouret gown, called the "Lamble gown," to be slightly more modest—the original design for the gown has a sheer, mesh back, and a zip down the back—Maxima did not have to make any alterations to the Danielson jumpsuit, which the French brand no longer carries.

Both designs were from Mouret's collections in 2016 and 2017, which means Kate has kept this dress in her closet waiting for the right moment to wear it.

The royal women are not just style twins; Queen Maxima and the Duchess of Cambridge have met a few times over the years in their official roles.

Maxima, too, was a guest at Kate's wedding to Prince William in 2011, attending with her husband, Willem Alexander, then the Crown Prince of the Netherlands.

Willem acceded to the throne following his mother's abdication in 2013, and upon his accession, Maxima became Queen of the Netherlands.
