Kate Middleton just broke royal protocol like Meghan Markle

She’s been on maternity leave ever since welcoming her adorable third child, Prince Louis, into the world back in April.
And on her first official engagement since getting back on her royal duties, one Twitter user noticed Kate seemed to be taking tips from her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.
The 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was visiting the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground yesterday when she was videoed closing her own car door.
“#duchessofcambridge returns from maternity leave… and there’s a shutting of the car door (shock…)…” The Sun royal correspondent Emily Andrews tweeted out alongside a video of Kate appearing to slam the door.
However, on closer inspection, it does look like Kate went to shut the door but her bodyguard might have gotten there before her.
Her flouting of the royal rules comes just days after Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was pictured closing her own car door on her first official solo royal engagement.
The 37-year-old, who attended the opening of the ‘Oceania’ exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, proved she wants to do things her own way by closing her own car door at the event.
One Twitter user even commented saying they thought it was the first time they’d ever seen a royal close their own car door while ‘on-duty’.
Kate Middleton also made a fashion statement on her first post-pregnancy royal trip, by wearing a pair of boots she’s had in her wardrobe for the past 14 years.
Proving she’s a fan of the high street, the Duchess recycled her go-to biker jeans by Zara and couldn’t resist her trusty $860AUD Penelope Chilvers tassel boots.
The Duchess was also pictured hugging the kids at the school and taking part in ‘story time’.
