Kate Middleton looked every bit ready for summer while hosting a royal garden party at Buckingham Palace alongside Prince Edward, Earl of Essex and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex in London on Wednesday.

For the event, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a bespoke coat dress in a coral hue by one of her go-to designers, Emilia Wickstead. Wearing her hair up in an elegant updo, the royal style maven complimented her vibrant ensemble with a matching fascinator and pumps, as well as a white lace clutch and dazzling drop earrings. Kate owns the elegant number in pastel blue, which she recently stepped out wearing at St. George’s Chapel for the annual Easter service in April. She also wore the piece once before during a Luxemburg engagement in 2017.

Sophie, for her part, chose to wear a darling floral midi dress, which she paired with a white and black fascinator and neutral heels, while her husband looked dapper in a black and gray suit teamed with a purple tie and black top hat.

Traditionally, the Queen hosts four garden parties ahead of summer—three at Buckingham Palace and one at the Holyroodhouse estate in Edinburgh, Scotland—to celebrate those who have distinguished themselves in public service. Due to ongoing mobility issues, Her Majesty has bowed out of the engagements and is having senior members of the royal family represent her instead. Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, and Princess Anne hosted the first garden party last week.

Kate's outing comes nearly two weeks before festivities for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee kick off. The celebrations will officially begin on Thursday, June 2, with a special Trooping the Colour featuring a number of royals on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
