Kate Middleton Paid Subtle Tribute to Princess Diana in a New Photo

Kate Middleton is taking a style cue from Princess Diana in a new photo.

On Sunday, the Kensington Royal social media accounts shared a photo of the Duchess of Cambridge to promote the launch of her new photography book Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020.

In the photo, the duchess can be seen wearing a red sweater over a white top with a ruffled collar, smiling as she holds a camera.

The ruffled collar calls to mind a style Princess Diana often wore in the '80s.

Throughout the pandemic, the Duchess of Cambridge has launched her project Hold Still, which captured life in Britain amid the lockdown.

"Through Hold Still, I wanted to use the power of photography to create a lasting record of what we were all experiencing – to capture individuals' stories and document significant moments for families and communities as we lived through the pandemic," she wrote in the Instagram caption, signing off, "C."

Earlier this month, Kate and Prince William's three children honored their late grandmother Princess Diana for Mother's Day in the U.K.

"Dear Granny Diana, Happy Happy Mother's Day. I love you very much and think of you always," Prince George wrote alongside a drawing.
