From Town & Country

After weeks of anticipation, Pippa Middleton finally gave birth to a baby boy at 1:58 p.m. on October 15. The as yet unnamed little boy has been welcomed by plenty of fanfare, not the least of which from his royal relatives.

Though there was no doubt that the Duchess of Cambridge's little sister was getting close to full term in recent weeks, she and her husband, James Matthews, chose not to announce an official due date during her pregnancy, leaving royal fans to speculate whether the baby would cause her to miss Princess Eugenie's wedding last week. Luckily, the baby's timing proved to be impeccable, with Pippa entering the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital on October 15th, three days after Eugenie's marriage to Jack Brooksbank.

Following the birth announcement, Kensington Palace put out a short statement from the Kate and Williams saying, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James.”

The Middleton sisters have remained close throughout the years, participating in one another's weddings and, in Pippa's case, playing the doting aunt for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Pippa was there for the christenings of both her nephews and her niece, though tradition prevented her from being named a godparent since she already has the honor of being their aunt. We can expect much the same treatment for the Duchess of Cambridge when it comes to her new, as yet unnamed nephew.

Hopefully their new duties as aunt and uncle will help get the royals into the swing of things-they're going to be getting a lot of practice since Prince Harry announced that he and Meghan Markle are also expecting.
