How Kate Middleton Spent Mother's Day With Her Children George, Charlotte and Louis
And no, she didn't spend all day editing a *certain* photo.
Despite what the internet may lead you to believe, Kate Middleton had a relatively chill Mother's Day at home with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and husband Prince William.
For the holiday — which is formally called Mothering Sunday in the U.K. — Middleton kept celebrations tight-knit with the family. "The family spent Mother's Day together and had a wonderful day," a source tells People.
Of course, the Princess of Wales's Mother's Day cannot be addressed without mentioning the picture she shared to her and William's @KensingtonRoyal account. On March 10, she shared a photo of her with George, Charlotte, and Louis on X and wrote, "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day. C."

The photo was quickly flagged by royal observers for several Photoshop inconsistencies and was later scrubbed by photo and news outlets like The Associated Press, Reuters, and international photo agency AFP. Middleton, however, chalked up the Photoshop fail to experimentation.
"Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused," she wrote. "I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
In the new People report, sources further explained that the Princess of Wales wanted “to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother’s Day" and that she made “minor adjustments” to the “amateur, family photograph taken by the Prince of Wales.” And for those wondering, People added that the photo was taken a week prior to its posting. (Do what you will with that information.)
Until the next inevitable batch of conspiracy rumors, then!
