It's no secret that Kate Middleton loves the outdoors, so it's only fitting that she assume a leading role in the UK's Scouts. The Duchess has just begun a new role as Joint President of the organization—a youth program akin to the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts stateside—alongside fellow royal the Duke of Kent.

She's jumped right into the job, meeting with a Scouts group in West London to hear about how they've been able to resume socially-distanced meetings amid the pandemic. The Duchess also roasted s'mores and made crafts with the kids.

For the casual engagement, Kate put together an appropriately outdoorsy outfit: a blue button-up shirt, vest, jeans, and her trusted Chloe boots. A blue, white, and red scouting scarf finished off the look.

Kate expressed her excitement for her new role with the Scouts in a statement. “For many children and young people, the Scout Association plays a key role as they build relationships and develop the skills they need to succeed in later life. When I volunteered with the Scouts on Anglesey eight years ago, I was struck by the huge impact the organization has on inspiring young people to support their communities and achieve their goals," she said, per People.

"I am delighted to be joining the Duke of Kent as Joint President of the Association and look forward to working with Scouts across the country as they strive to make a positive difference to our society."
