Early in the pandemic, Kate Middleton kicked off a special photography project aimed at capturing life in the UK during that tumultuous time. Titled Hold Still, the project was part of a collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, of which Kate is patron, and was designed to encourage those in the UK to document their experiences during the pandemic. Naturally, the project was a big success, spawning a photography book called Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020, which debuted this May featuring 100 portraits from the project, along with accompanying stories, and a foreword from Kate herself.

Kate has been vocal in her support of the project since the beginning, but it was only now that the Duchess of Cambridge was able to gather those who helped bring Hold Still to life for an in-person show of gratitude. Today, Kate shared a post through her and Prince William's official Instagram account thanking those involved and sharing a few photos from the event.

"Thank you to the brilliant partners who made Hold Still a reality!" she wrote in the caption. "It took a long time to bring everyone behind this incredible project together in person but tonight we finally managed it. The idea for #HoldStill2020 came right at the start of the pandemic, and aimed to bring people and communities together, using the amazing power of photography."

For the event, Kate wore a timelessly elegant cream blazer dress with a chiffon midi skirt by Self Portrait. The style is available in both a full-sleeved version, as Kate sported, as well as a sleeveless option for those tricky transitional seasons.
