On Saturday, Katy Perry debuted a brand new hair look on Instagram courtesy of Kim Kardashian's go-to hair stylist, Chris Appleton.

Back in 2017, Katy cut all her iconic black hair off and debuted her now signature, peroxide blonde crop. Speaking on the Viceland Therapist series, Katy revealed that there was actually a deeper meaning behind her new look.

"I'm really strong as Katy Perry and then sometimes I'm not as strong as Katheryn Hudson," she said. "People like talk about my hair, right? They don't like it or they wish that it was longer. I so badly want to be Katheryn Hudson that I don't even want to look like Katy Perry anymore sometimes."

The singer explained that cutting her hair was her way of finding relief from her public persona, and returning to her "authentic self".

But, it seems Katy has come a long way since that interview two years ago, where she admitted she struggled with suicidal thoughts.

It seems spending that time finding herself, also helped her relationships. As in February this year, 34-year-old Katy announced she was engaged to 42-year-old Orlando Bloom. And now, Katy is clearly content in herself to change up her hair again.

Debuting her new 'do on Instagram, Katie revealed a head of blonde tousled hair extensions, that make her look like a completely different person. And as much as we miss her iconic crop, we kind of love this new look and the new chapter it represents in her life.

Proud of you, Katie.
