Katy Perry Had the Best Response to Luke Bryan Telling Her to Shave Her Leg Hair
Katy Perry had the perfect response to Luke Bryan’s joke that she should shave her legs.
“No, I don’t got time,” the singer and new mom said. “I’d rather cuddle with my daughter!”
Perry welcomed daughter Daisy Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom last August.
Being a new mom is tough, especially while working — and Katy Perry is done with putting up with society’s standards of what women “should” do. We don’t blame her for shutting down American Idol costar Luke Bryan after he made a joke about her leg hair.
“I know you’re a new mom and everything, but we gotta do something about this leg hair,” Bryan teased Perry in an Instagram story posted to her account on Mother’s Day.
The “Roar” singer then zoomed in on her legs, retorting, “No, I don’t got time. I’d rather cuddle with my daughter!” She captioned the post with #MomsKnow.
Bryan took the friendly argument one step further, starting to say, “It is literally —” before Perry cut him off by screaming “Yeah!”

This isn’t the first time Perry has made it clear that she really can’t be bothered about this. “As a new mother, I don’t have very much time, so I have quit shaving my legs,” the judge said during her feedback to contestant Cassandra Coleman during an Idol episode in April. “When you sang, the hair on my legs grew an inch and a half. So, full-body chills.”
Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed daughter Daisy Dove last August. “[Motherhood] is the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life,” she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live in February.
On Mother’s Day, her first as a mom, she also shared a heartwarming message on Twitter: “I found everything I was ever searching for when I became a mother,” Perry wrote. “So grateful for that profound, deep love and honored to join the mama club.”
