Katy Perry Wore Hillary Clinton-Themed Dresses & Nails

In Hollywood circles, birthdays are kind of a big deal (even on non-milestone years). Kanye West surprised his wife, Kim Kardashian West, with a screening of Jobs; Olivier Rousteing invited his entire #BalmainArmy to celebrate in Los Angeles clad in clothes he designed; Russell Wilson got Beyoncé to dress up as Storm from X-Men for Ciara’s 30th; and just about everyone else flies to Las Vegas for an all-expenses paid party in their honor. But Katy Perry was more political for her big day — literally — by choosing to spend her 31st stumping in Iowa for Hillary Clinton.

At a rally, the singer was introduced to the crowd by former President Bill Clinton before taking the stage. "Look, I don’t want to talk long, because I have never been the warm-up act for Katy Perry before. I am well aware I am the warm-up act,“ he said. Then, wearing a white gown with a Hillary 2016 logo on the chest, an American flag cape, and blue and red turban, she performed hits including "America the Beautiful,” “Firework,” “Wide Awake,” and “Roar.” That night, Perry was the honored guest of the 2015 Democratic presidential candidate at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner where she changed into a navy blue strapless dress with a red arrow belt.

Throughout her weekend in the Hawkeye State, Perry took over Hillary’s Instagram account, posting photos of #ImWithHer nail art, “POTUS” jewelry, and several selfies.
