Kelsea Ballerini said there was "a little spice" in her coffee earlier this week when she responded to a TikTok comment suggesting that she was unrecognizable.

"You look so different can't hardly recognize you anymore," a woman wrote in response to one of Ballerini's previous videos. The country pop singer wasn't shy in her response.

"That’s because I’m growing up, because you met me when I was 20 when I put out 'Love Me Like You Mean It.' And now I’m 29, almost 30," she jokingly sang. "That's almost 10 years and you're supposed to look different every 10 years."

Ballerini also noted that it was "a woman commenting on how another woman looks. The internet is trash," she said.

People provided support for her sentiment in the replies. "Preach it sis," one person wrote. Another said, "You are a queen. I love how REAL you are. You’re beautiful!"

One fan suggested, "Sis if you’ve aged, then I’m an absolute dumpster fire," while others praised Ballerini for delivering her clapback in song. "Kelsea you should totally release this song," someone wrote, to which Ballerini joked, "next single?"

It isn't the first time that the singer has addressed hate comments or criticism on her social media. In an Instagram post on Thursday, she included a word of advice that she received over text that's relevant to how she handles these situations.

"You can't control other peoples words to you or about you. So speak kindly to yourself because you're the only one that can control what you say to yourself," the text read.

Seems like that's the energy Ballerini is taking into the holidays. "Things that make me holly and jolly," she captioned the slideshow of joyful memories.
