Kelsey Quayle: Aspiring Model's Mysterious Death Leaves Georgia Police Baffled

Officials are unsure whether Quayle was the victim of road rage, caught in a crossfire or specifically targeted.

Authorities in Georgia are trying to figure out what happened to an aspiring model who was shot to death while driving outside Atlanta.

At first, Kelsey Quayle, 28, appeared to have been injured in a devastating car crash last Monday, but when she was rushed to the hospital for treatment, doctors discovered a bullet in her neck.

She died Wednesday after her family made the decision to remove her from life support.

"It's been really hard for us," Quayle's sister, Kayleigh Martin, told KTLA. "At first, it was just a car accident and then it turned into a crime scene, basically."

Police are reviewing surveillance footage from a gas station where Quayle stopped shortly before she veered into oncoming traffic and hit three other cars.

Officials are unsure if Quayle, who had recently moved to Atlanta to pursue a modeling career, was the victim of road rage, caught in a crossfire or specifically targeted.

"It seems to be random at this time," Capt. Scott Stubbs of the Clayton County Police Department told WSB-TV. "We have no reports of anyone reporting any gunfire, no reports of anybody driving erratically."

Martin begged for any information in the case.

"Please, please come forward," Martin told WSB-TV. "Please let us know if anybody saw anything."

A GoFundMe page has been set up in Quayle's name to help pay for funeral expenses.
