We're about to see one of country music's power couples in a whole new light.

In a thrilling turn of events, Paramount+ announced that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will play James and Margaret Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series, 1883. The show will give Yellowstone fans a different look at the Duttons before they had money, power and control of the largest contingent ranch in the United States. Per the show's official announcement, 1883 is a "stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana."

The pair broke the news on their individual Instagram accounts. Faith shared a boomerang of her holding the script, writing that fans "have never seen anything like this."

Tim spoke directly to the camera, joking that now fans can put questions about his beard to rest. "A lot of you asked about my beard, so now you know why," he quipped.

And while the 1883 casting news may come as a surprise to many, it's clear that people are thrilled for them. Thousands of diehard fans have commented on their posts to express their excitement, including a few familiar faces from the Yellowstone cast. "Dutton looks good on you," Kevin Costner, who stars as John Dutton on the original series, wrote. Jefferson White, who currently plays Jimmy, is ecstatic that Tim will be a part of the Dutton universe: "The legend!! Can't wait!!"

A bunch of their country music pals also offered their congratulations. "You guys are going to be so good in this," Rita Wilson commented. Martina McBride showed her enthusiasm with exclamation points and emojis: "Yesssssss!!!!’ 🙌🔥👏❤️," she wrote. Even Charles Kelley of Lady A chimed in to ask Tim for a spot on the call sheet: "Well that’s freaking cool. I’m just now getting into that show. Can I costar on something?"

Celebrities aside, tons of loyal Yellowstone fans are happy to see the real-life couple bring James and Margaret to life. "I can't wait! We have all been needing us some Faith Hill," one fan wrote. "Hopefully you guys get to sing a little bit," another fan commented (not a bad idea, right?).

While the couple has made plenty of music together throughout their 25-year marriage, this marks the first time that they'll share the silver screen on a TV show. Still, they each have a lot of acting experience: Faith started her career with guest spots on TV shows, eventually returning to the acting world in 2017's Dixieland. Tim, of course, is known for his performances in blockbuster movies, including The Blind Side, Tomorrowland and Country Strong.

If 1883 delivers in the same way as their on-stage performances, then we're in for a real treat. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they'll have Sam Elliott, who will play Shea Brennan, as their right-hand on the show.
