Sorry not sorry, but when it comes to beauty, the Kardashian/Jenners are never too far from predictable. With their back-to-back launches of skincare products, limited-edition palettes and lip kits, and their known commitments to their longtime makeup artists, we seem to always know what’s up before any red carpet or TV-ready prep.
Recently, Kris and her daughters opened up about their personal beauty “secrets” and “hacks” on Kourtney Kardashian’s lifestyle website, Poosh. While Kim and Kylie kept things short and un-shockingly used the opportunity to pitch products from their own separate lines, Khloé took up a little over three paragraphs to spill helpful tips.
Along with sharing how-tos for at-home hair masking, a DIY body scrub and shaving cream alternatives, the 35-year old mother of one introduces Kate Blanc Cosmetics vitamin E Oil, an affordable must-have she uses to support the growth of longer and stronger lashes.

“Use olive oil or vitamin E in place of pricey lash-lengthening treatments. Olive oil or vitamin E acts as a conditioner to help your lashes grow strong and healthy,” says the Good American co-owner. “Use a clean spoolie or a cotton swab when applying, and you should see changes in a month or two.”
But knowing what we know about this ingredient, this one tip has us scratching our heads. Reputable to reduce fine lines, stretch marks and dark spots, vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps prevent damage from certain environmental pollutants. In skincare, it's often listed as a chemical "tocopherol" and added to various serums and creams. So to find out if vitamin E oil is safe to use on your lashes, we reached out to Renée A. Beach, MD, FRCPC Medical & Cosmetic Dermatology at Women's College Hospital, for the lowdown. “Lots of cosmetics include it [vitamin E]. While it can be helpful, there are a handful of people who actually form an irritant or even an allergic skin reaction to it known as Contact Dermatitis,” says Beach. “No, topical [vitamin E] wouldn't be considered an asset for lash or hair growth.”
Rather than using vitamin E, Beach says a simple lash serum or even Khloe’s olive oil tip can help strengthen lashes, which is the key to growth.
“Lash serums sold at spas or salons do not contain bimatoprost (an off-the-shelf medication), but they can contain peptides —bits of proteins—touted to support the hair follicle and moisturizing agents like glycerin that help to avoid eyelash breakage,” says Beach.
Got weak and brittle lashes? For extra TLC, Beach also suggests taking vitamin C supplements is great for promoting skin integrity and supporting dermal skin items like collagen. Zinc and vitamin D has also proven to be beneficial in helping hair growth in deficient patients.
