Khloé Kardashian slammed for putting baby True Thompson in a pile of designer Birkin bags: 'Vapid and materialistic'

Khloé Kardashian‘s never been one to cower at criticism. When the mom of 10-month-old True Thompson was slammed for wearing long fingernails that many deemed unsuitable for tending to an infant, she not only told critics to back off, she persisted in posting gratuitous close-ups of her trendy talons. And now, just months after being mom-shamed for plopping her baby in a designer Hermès Birkin handbag — which can cost upwards of $11,000 and into the six digits — the reality star is at it again.

Kardashian, who has reportedly just split from her daughter’s father, NBA star Tristan Thompson, in a cheating scandal, posted a throwback photo which appears to be an outtake from True’s earlier Birkin bag shoot. But instead of sitting inside one designer bag, the tot — who turns 1 in late April — is perched on a pile of at least 14 luxury carry-alls.

Many fans were blown away by the extravagant photo, leaving envious comments like “lucky baby,” “frolicking in Birkins is goals” and “never been jealous of a baby before but there’s a first time for everything I guess.”

But others were less amused by the ostentatious display, and chided Kardashian for using her baby to show off her wealth.

“Why is she surrounded by purses and not toys,” read one comment. “Is this what babies that are rich play with?”

“The child is almost a prop,” agreed a commenter.

“Let’s brag a little more,” wrote a follower. “Why not take some of your wealth and help others?”

“Don’t you guys ever donate to any charities or make a difference in the world?” added another commenter.

“She don’t give a d**n about these purses,” read another response. “Give her some toys.”

“Vapid and materialistic,” one person summed up. “We get it. You’re rich … we aren’t. The worst part is, you just keep doing it. Humility goes a long way.”

Another called the photo “so tacky,” while another accused True of being “spoiled.”

Kardashian hasn’t responded to the backlash — though, for those worried that little True doesn’t have actual toys, Kardashian’s latest Instagram stories feature True Birkin-free and playing with a wooden puzzle.
