Khloe Kardashian Sells Calabasas Home to YouTube Star for Record Price of $15.5 Million
Khloé Kardashian is setting records in real estate. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recently sold off her longtime Calabasas mansion for $15.5 million, reportedly making it the most expensive house ever sold in the city. The Good American founder purchased the home from longtime family friend Justin Bieber for $7.2 million in 2014, but has since spent a substantial amount upgrading it to the stylish property that it is today—an update that new owner Dhar Mann, a cosmetics entrepreneur and YouTube star, will no doubt appreciate. Situated on a 1.3-acre landscaped lot, the Tuscan villa–style compound measures 9,320 square feet, with a separate guest house that is essentially a miniature replica of the main house. As Kardashian previously told Architectural Digest, she was very “hands-on” with renovations after she purchased the home from Bieber, adding in sleek jet-black hardwood floors and removing the pop star’s skate ramp, for instance. “I’m obsessed with details, so I can be a bit controlling, but it’s only because I’m genuinely curious,” she told AD for a March 2016 cover story. At the time, celeb-favorite designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard helped Kardashian decorate her place; since then, Kardashian has also called on the likes of designers Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez to further revamp her home.
Common areas include a cream-toned living room with an entire wall of steel-framed floor-to-ceiling glass doors, a family room with minimalist built-in shelves and a backlit bar, a screening room with luxuriously upholstered couches, and a dramatic dining room with stunning views of the backyard garden. There are a total of six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms spread throughout the home, and the main suite is an undoubted highlight: Kardashian opted to transform two of the guest bedrooms into one very large walk-in closet.
The grounds surrounding the main house itself are meant for lounging and entertaining: In addition to the aforementioned guest house, there’s an outdoor bar area with a thatched roof, multiple courtyards featuring outdoor fireplaces, several patios for alfresco dining, a picturesque pool with an inset spa, and numerous Moroccan-style fountains scattered throughout the property.
