Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner Announce Release Date for Perfume Collaboration

After an unexpected issue put a temporary hold on production of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner's perfume collab, the sisters are finally ready to announce a launch date.

Kim took to Instagram on Friday, August 2 to reveal that the KKW x KYLIE perfume will officially be available on August 23. "You thought we forgot about you???" the reality star wrote alongside a pic of the sisters holding the lip-shaped packaging. "Check the @kkwfragrance page for more details 💋💋💋."

As noted by Allure, the Instagram account TrendMood is reporting that the fragrance line will contain three different scents: Nude Lips, a "vanilla amber musk;" Pink Lips, a "solar floral coconut;" and Red Lips, described as "opulent white floral."

We'll have to wait and see what other official deets Kim and Kylie release, but it seems like we won't have much longer to wait before getting our hands — and noses — on these highly-anticipated bottles.

Kim has announced there's been a delay on the release of her joint perfume with Kylie. Following a confirmed release date for the fragrance of April 26th, Kim shared that an unexpected issue during production led to a temporary hold on the launch.

The founder of KKW Fragrance announced the news on Twitter, writing, "We found out today from the manufacturer that a few of our bottles did not pass durability tests while on the assembly line and we have paused production while the team explores the issue further."

She continued, writing, "Together, we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch as we would never release a product that did not meet the strictest of quality guidelines. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we have a new launch date."

The product has since been removed from KKW Fragrance's online store.

After previously teasing a possible fragrance collaboration on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim and Kylie have confirmed the launch of their new perfume. Kylie Jenner by KKW Fragrance comes in lip-shaped packaging, and three new scents will be released on April 26 at 12 p.m. PST.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Kim wrote, "Three colorful bottles in nude, pink, and red. These lip-shaped fragrances offer notes of red lotus blossoms, liquid amber, and peony." Each bottle will go for $40, and there's also a bundle of all three, which retails for $120.

According to the KKW Fragrance website, the offerings include Red Lips, which has hints of orange zest and red lotus blossom; Pink Lips, a Mandarin and Italian Bergamot scent that includes notes of tiare flower; and Nude Lips, which features magnolia, jasmine, and peony.

In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Kylie confirmed the launch, saying, "No one understands how excited I am for this because I have been a true fan of Kim's fragrances since the first one she ever dropped. I'm obsessed and I just can't believe I have my own."

Prepare some room on your cosmetics counter, because a long-awaited collaboration is coming. Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian have each made a name for themselves in the worlds of beauty and fashion, but their next release will apparently be a joint perfume.

Following the success of earlier KKW Fragrances, including Kimoji and KKW Body, Kim shared what she's working on next in the season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pair gave KUWTK viewers the first glimpse of their fragrance, and naturally, it's packaged in a large bottle shaped like lips.

The sisters didn't spill any secrets on a possible scent or what the product might be named, but they must know that fans will likely love it. As THR noted, Kim took some time to show off the perfume bottle's potential for appearing in selfies, saying, "What we found online is that this [size] looks obviously better on your counter, and I feel like it’s even cuter for people to take [pictures] like this."

Kim and Kylie have previously collaborated in the past, releasing a set of lip products through Kylie Cosmetics. However, this would be the first time that Kylie has worked with her sister through the KKW Fragrance brand. Since launching Kylie Cosmetics, the makeup mogul has worked with additional members of her family, including Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloé Kardashian.

There's no word on a possible release date or price, but it's safe to say the pair's social media followers will likely be the first to know. In the meantime, you can always stock up on the lip set from their last joint venture or get familiar with one of the other fragrances in the KKW Fragrance line.
