Kourtney Kardashian Is Being Mom-Shamed on Instagram for Her Son’s Long Hair

Commenters are also freaking out about how the four-year-old looks like he's "freezing" in the photo.

Like so many of us this weekend, Kourtney Kardashian is spending some time shopping online for holiday gifts. She does it a little bit differently than most of us, though. While you may be curled up on the couch with your laptop resting on your warmest pajama pants, Kardashian is doing her bargain-hunting poolside in a bikini while getting mom-shamed by dozens of Instagram followers.

On Saturday, Kardashian posted a photo showing her sitting on a deck chaise with a MacBook balancing on her knees while her youngest son, Reign, seemingly having just gotten out of the pool, stands by. "Christmas shopping," she wrote in the caption. And while many fans understandably commented about how they're shopping under much colder circumstances or joked about what gifts they want Kardashian to buy for them, a number of trolls made remarks about Reign — and what his mother should be doing differently.

"U Christmas shopping while ur kid is freezing from the poool wowwwww talk about narcissistic," one commenter wrote. The snark — sometimes disguised as concern — was echoed by many. "So, your son is freezing and you’re pretending to type? Great pic," someone commented, while another said, "The baby looks rly cold and ur there on ur computer not doing anything about it." One person even went so far as to say, "I love how at this point kourtney is just posting photos of her neglecting her kids."

Some trolls took the photo as an opportunity for two-for-one mom-shaming. "The kid is freezing damn start being a mom poor kids also cut the boy's hair," one commenter wrote about Reign, who turns four in December. His hair reaches well past his shoulders, which is apparently an issue for some people who have no say in the child's life — but that didn't stop them from making rude remarks.

"Reign is so cute! But cut his hair! I can never tell if he’s Penelope or himself," one commenter wrote, begging for help telling Reign apart from Kardashian's daughter. Others simply wrote, "Please cut his hair," while some who missed the memo about gender constructs made offensive assumptions, writing comments like, "Please cut that boys hair. U do on mason I don't get it. Sorry u didn't have another girl but let him be a 👦" and "Cut his hair. So rediculous. And don’t state that he wants it that long. Dear god,he is a child,he does not know any better. You did the same with Mason. What is your point?" Better question: What's the point of leaving a comment like that?

Kardashian ignored the trolls, but several of her fans came to her defense about both non-issues. "All these comments about 'aren’t you going to do something your kids cold'. Well If people actually looked rather then just seen what they want to see there’s a towel behind her son so clearly she’s not letting him freeze," a much more level-headed commenter wrote. As for Reign's hair, one fan made the only acceptable comment: "Reign is too cute! love his long hair."

Anyone who feels differently about it may want to remind themselves that it's not their hair or their child, so their disapproving comments are neither relevant nor welcome.
