Kristin Cavallari's best friend Justin Anderson gets candid about month-long Bahamas trip amid coronavirus pandemic

Justin Anderson, the celebrity hairstylist to stars like Jennifer Aniston, Margot Robbie and Kristin Cavallari, is finally home after spending nearly a month in the Bahamas amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Anderson, who appears on the E! reality show Very Cavallari and is best friends with Cavallari, tells Yahoo Entertainment he was quarantined on a private island with his fiancé Austin “Scoot” Rhodes, Cavallari, her husband Jay Cutler and their three kids.

“We didn’t know what was happening in the world,” he explains. “It got to the point where we were like, ‘Are we safer here or should we head back home?’”

The pair and their loved ones headed to the Bahamas on spring break in mid-March and soon found themselves completely isolated. “At that time, we were on this private island, we were in a private residence,” he says. “There was nobody around and it felt safe to be there, but the longer we were there, we were like ‘OK, stuff is getting serious, we need to find a way to get home.’”

He and Cavallari kept busy by posting workout videos and posing for beach selfies, but Anderson says anxiety started to kick in after watching the news. “Hour by hour, it was just getting scarier and scarier, so at that point, we just wanted to get home.”

The group faced major social media backlash for their ill-timed vacation.

On Tuesday, they all made it home to Tennessee. Cavallari confirmed their return on her Instagram story saying, “We had a short window to get out of the Bahamas, so we jumped all over it.”

The Department of State has advised U.S. citizens to avoid all nonessential international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.

The Bahamas has been under a state of emergency since March 23. On Monday, the Bahamian government announced full lockdown orders starting Wednesday, restricting travel in and out of the islands.
