Kylie Jenner criticized for teddy bear worth more than $25,000 in son's nursery

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are facing criticism over their newborn son's pricey teddy bear collection.

Earlier this week, the couple shared a few never-before-seen moments from Jenner’s pregnancy in a new YouTube video entitled, "To Our Son."

Although the video was intended as a sweet tribute to their son, who was born on Feb. 2, it didn't take long for fans to take issue with some of the expensive toys featured throughout the video and Jenner's Instagram.

One eagle-eyed fan named Jackie Diaz took to TikTok to dig deeper into the retail price of some of the designer teddy bears that were displayed in Jenner's son's nursery.

According to the video, the newborn's collection of expensive toys includes a Ralph Lauren Limited-Edition Patchwork Bear ($645 CAD/ $550 USD) and an Enfants Riches Deprimes Brown Nouveau Object Pathétique Plush Toy (approximately $2,547 CAD/ $2,080 USD).

The most expensive bear, however, was the Louis Vuitton DouDou 2005 Teddy Bear; a pre-owned version of the bear currently retails for $25,604 CAD/ $20,550 USD.

The video was met with countless comments which criticized Jenner and Scott for spending thousands on the luxury bears.

"Rich people give me the ick," one person wrote. "So much money for some bears that their kid will never play with," one TikTok user commented.

"I can pay off my student loans with those bears," another said.

"They can feed thousands of people with this money," someone else wrote.

"How do people justify this?" someone asked.

“I could never justify this," another echoed. "Children are starving and dying around the entire world. Sickening.”

Others defended the couple, pointing out that there's a fair chance they received the teddy bears as free gifts directly from the companies.

“The crazy thing is she probably didn’t even buy them…they were probably gifted," someone commented.

“They definitely were sent these for free" added another.

This isn't the first time that Jenner has been called out for giving luxury items to her children. In Oct. 2020, she sparked backlash for sharing a photo of her then 2-year-old daughter Stormi wearing a Hermès backpack reportedly worth more than $10,000 USD on her first day of homeschool.
