Who Is the 'Most Beautiful Royal,' Lady Amelia Windsor?

Just over two years ago, Lady Amelia Windsor graced the cover of Tatler magazine with the headline "The Most Beautiful Member of the Royal Family." Since then, she's walked in major fashion shows and worked behind-the-scenes for some of the biggest names in the fashion. And, unlike most royals who avoid social media completely, she's amassed a huge Instagram following.

On her 23rd birthday, here's what you should know about the young Lady:

She's Prince Harry's third cousin - and 38th in line for the throne.

Lady Amelia is the daughter of George Windsor, the Earl of St Andrews, and Sylvana Tomaselli, a lecturer in history at St John’s College Cambridge, according to The Telegraph. She's the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent.

When her parents married, Lady Amelia's dad had to renounce his position in the line of succession because Tomaselli was a divorced Roman Catholic. In 2013, though, his position was restored thanks to the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act. Lady Amelia's older siblings, Edward, Lord Downpatrick, and Lady Marina, renounced their places in line when they confirmed themselves as Roman Catholics.

Lady Amelia has a tattoo of three bear cubs to honor her siblings, according to a profile in W magazine.

She works in fashion.

Lady Amelia has worked in fashion both on and off the catwalk. As a model, she was signed to Storm, the agency which represents superstars Kate Moss and Cara Delevigne. In February 2017, she appropriately took to the catwalk with a golden crown for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week.

But as she told Vogue UK last year: "I would love to make a contribution to any aspect behind the creative process. On my year abroad I want to really further my understanding of every aspect of a fashion house: from the making of the fabrics to the production of a catwalk show."

Lady Amelia studies at The University of Edinburgh, and for her year abroad she's worked for designer Azzedine Alaia and interned at jewellery house Bulgari, according to The Telegraph.

This week, she'll be releasing a collaboration with shoe designer and family friend Penelope Chilvers. Last year, the young royal filmed a short video for the brand in Southern Spain.

She's also involved in philathropy.

Lady Amelia has said she hopes to combine her love of fashion with her passion for sustainability.

“We’re all aware of the huge plastic crisis and the effect it’s having on our planet,” she told The Telegraph. “Fashion has a key role in that, but then also there are ways we can deal with it. Stella McCartney is someone to look up to in that sense, she makes the bigger point in her collection that you can be sustainable and stylish. That should be something that everyone really looks for when they shop now….”

Twenty percent of the proceeds from her collection with Penelope Chilvers will be donated to the charity War Child, which aids children in conflict areas. And in 2014, she worked with the charity Veterans Aid.

She has a loyal Instagram following.

Though most royals shy away from social media, Lady Amelia often posts on her Instagram account @amelwindsor, and she has over 70,000 followers.

She told Vogue UK about Instagram: "It allows anyone to be creative and imaginative. I also love that we can share all the beautiful and meaningful things we see and hear in the world. I find it so inspiring and uplifting."

When it comes to her personal style, which is highlighted on her account, she told W: “I don’t really have a specific style, it changes every day depending on who I am with, or the place I am near. In London, it’s a bit more punk. There is such a fun freedom that everyone has to express themselves. You don’t have to have a specific style. It can enhance how you want to feel on a specific day. There is nothing better."
