Lady Gaga Cancels Global Chromatica Listening Party

Lady Gaga's sixth studio album, Chromatica, dropped today. To celebrate, there was a listening party scheduled so that Little Monsters around the world could hear the new tracks together, all under the watch of Mother Monster. However, in the wake of protests over George Floyd's death, Gaga decided to reschedule the festivities. In a pair of tweets, she urged fans to spread their kindness into the world and to register and vote so that their voices could be heard.

"As much as I want to listen to Chromatica together as a global group of kindness punks right now, our kindness is needed for the world today," Gaga posted. "I’m going to postpone our listening session right now and encourage you all to take this time to register to vote and raise your voice."

She added a second tweet, writing that the even would be rescheduled: "I'm so glad the album is bringing you some joy, because that’s what I always wanted it to do. We'll reschedule this very soon."

Gaga isn't alone in addressing the protests. Other celebrities have also made their opinions known, using social media to speak out against police violence and Floyd's death. Others, including Don Cheadle, Steve Carell, and Janelle Monáe, have provided money to help bail out protesters who have been arrested during the protests.

Before Chromatica's release, fans had the opportunity to listen to a few tracks, including collaborations with Ariana Grande and BLACKPINK and the single "Stupid Love."
