Former NBA player Lamar Odom responded to reports Tuesday that he was near a shooting incident at a New York Hooters last week.

Lamar Odom reportedly near Hooters shooting

TMZ first reported Tuesday afternoon that Odom and some friends had a verbal altercation with another group outside the restaurant early on July 20. A man from the other group reportedly pulled out a gun and shot multiple times in the air before his group fled the scene, according to the report. Nobody was hurt.

Odom acknowledged the reports on Instagram Tuesday, assuring his fans that he was “near the scene” and “OK,” but “not involved in anyway.”

People Magazine reported that police confirmed that Odom was not the intended target nor involved in the dispute.
