At least five people were reported dead at a Florida nursing home on Wednesday morning, according to Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief.
The Hollywood, Florida nursing home -- the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills -- had reportedly been without air conditioning since Hurricane Irma took its toll on Sunday, leaving residents of the home to suffer the heat. Firefighters evacuated around 100 residents out of the nursing home, and the deaths were reported shortly thereafter.
Sharief said on Wednesday that she did not have any additional details on the causes of death, and that authorities are currently investigating the situation.
