Robot vacuums have made it easier than ever to keep your home clean with minimal effort. While vacuuming used to be a full-body workout, robot vacuums allow you to spend more time enjoying your home instead of cleaning it.

One vacuum that's becoming increasingly popular on Amazon Canada is the Lefant Robot Vacuum Cleaner. The self-charging vacuum has made its way to the retailer's Movers & Shakers list after experiencing a spike in sales by more than 21,000 per cent — and it's on sale for $153.

The details

Lefant’s vacuum cleaner features an “ultra-thin” design with powerful suction to clean up everyday messes on low to medium pile carpets and hardwood floors. The upgraded model provides built-in anti-collision sensors to detect objects in its cleaning path and prevent the vacuum from falling off of the stairs.

Lefant utilizes a corresponding app to program four different modes of cleaning: auto clean, spot clean, wall follow clean or manual clean. The 11” diameter vacuum helps navigate cleaning in tight spaces and can clean up to 1,100 sq ft or 100 minutes of run time using a single battery charge.

What people are saying

Lefant's Robot Vacuum has earned a 4.1-star rating based on more than 6,000 customer reviews from Amazon shoppers who have called the unit an "easy to use" gadget to keep your home clean.

"It works amazingly well," one shopper said of their vacuum that "doesn't bump into things" around their home.

Other shoppers have said that the Lefant app is easy to use and set up and requires minimal interaction, except to empty the dust bin after cleaning.

"It keeps our space clean hands-free," another said.

Pet owners have said that the vacuums design is useful for picking up pet hair and isn't too loud while in use.

"Just remove the dirt canister, clean and replace," another said of the roller-free design that apparently also doesn't become tangled with hair.

Although there are plenty of positive reviews, some shoppers have said that it's important to manage your expectations before you buy. Lefant's lower price tag in comparison to competing brands means that it may lack in certain areas.

While shoppers have said that the vacuum performs relatively well to its competitors, it doesn't have the same technology that allows the vacuum to dock itself when it's time to recharge. According to reviewers, the vacuum "takes a while" to get back to it's station and doesn't have the same technology as other brands that lets you map out your entire space to customize cleaning patterns.

Despite the drawbacks, Amazon shoppers still call Lefant's model a good option for daily dusting if you're hesitant to spend a small fortune on a robot vacuum.

Lefant's Robot Vacuum is a great option for anyone looking to cut down their manual cleaning time without investing hundreds in a high-end model. While Lefant's model might be smaller in size, it's a great way for pet owners to take care of the day to day messes and pet hair that can occur while spending more time enjoying their home.

If your home has lots of carpeting that's of medium height or pile, this model might not be for you. Lefant's unit is best suited for hard floors or low pile area rugs and isn't designed to pick up heavy messes or spills (think pet hair, dust, etc).
