Watch: Lindsay Lohan to star in Netflix Christmas movie
Lindsay Lohan is set to make an acting comeback in a romantic comedy from Netflix.
While the 34-year-old was one of the 00s most prolific stars, she's worked on camera in only a few projects in recent years.
In the upcoming film she is set to play a "spoiled hotel heiress", according to the synopsis from the streaming giant.
Netflix shared in a tweet: "Lindsay Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident."
It comes as the streaming service has become renowned for its Christmas offerings, winning over viewers with film series like The Princess Switch and A Christmas Prince.
Variety reports production will commence in November, with Janeen Damian set to direct. Damian wrote the film alongside Michael Damian, Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver.
Lohan found fame aged just 11 when she starred in the dual role of twins Hallie Parker and Annie James in The Parent Trap.
She went on to star in a number of hits including 2003's Freaky Friday remake opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and 2004's iconic teen film Mean Girls, where she played Cady Heron.
Lohan's most prominent recent appearances have included a recurring role on UK comedy Sick Note in 2018, featuring on MTV reality programme Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club and as a judge on the Australian version of The Masked Singer.
