Little girl who admired Michelle Obama's portrait dresses as the former first lady for Halloween

The girl who went viral after a photo was taken of her being awestruck with Michelle Obama’s portrait earlier this year is making waves on the internet yet again for her decision to dress up as the former first lady for Halloween.

Back in March, then 2-year-old Parker Curry took a trip to the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, where she experienced a moment while looking at artist Amy Sherald’s portrait of Obama. Shortly thereafter, she was given the opportunity to meet her idol in person. But it seems that the impact of the moment wasn’t short-lived, as the now 3-year-old was quick to tell her mother that she wanted to be Obama for Halloween.

In a photo posted to Twitter, Parker is seen sitting in Obama’s same pose and wearing a dress so similar to the one worn in the painting, you might think that Obama’s was shrunk just to fit her. According to Buzzfeed, however, Parker’s mom got in touch with a children’s clothing designer who replicated the Milly gown.

“I don’t know how she did it,” Parker’s mom said of Alisha Welsh’s design. “But she did it, and she’s amazing and we love her for it.”

Turns out, the internet loves her for it as well.

Still, the most exciting response came from the former first lady herself.
