After Losing His Kid's Lunchbox, One Guy Did the Most Dad Thing Ever

From Good Housekeeping

One dad's accident might now be the most genius lunch time hack of all time. When Mark Hoyle, the man behind the hilarious U.K. daddy blog LadBaby, hit the grocery store to replace his toddler son's lunch box, he was put off by both the prices and styles of the selection.

"There only really one other place I can try," said Hoyle on a video, below, that he took recording the experience. "I'll be honest, I'm not confident. I don't even know if they sell lunch boxes."

You can understand his worries because that "one other place" was a home improvement store. But as Hoyle browsed through the aisles, he stumbled upon a double-sided tool kit with adjustable segments. "It's basically tupperware," Doyle explained.

The best part? It totaled just over $5. Doyle was pretty proud of himself for his find - but his wife wasn't convinced until Hoyle demonstrated the box's insane efficiency. Hoyle went into the kitchen to put together what he calls a "lunch box buffet," filling the box's compartments with cheerios, various types of nuts, cheese, a juice box and fruit.

The genius alarm really went off though, when his wife flipped the box over to reveal the handy toy storage on the other side. Cars, blocks and teething rings fit snuggly and securely across from the tot's lunch - held together with sturdy click-and-go locks.

Doyle's wife wasn't thrilled about the idea of carrying around a boring, utilitarian lunch box, so he jokingly suggested she customize it. It's not a bad idea, though, since covering the box in stickers of your child's favorite Paw Patrol characters is basically the same thing as buying a Paw Patrol-themed lunch box (but if you really want to buy your kid a Paw Patrol lunchbox, this one is really cute).

His idea has garnered so much attention - nearly 200,000 people have viewed and praised this video - that Doyle plans on manufacturing his own kits for sale. You'll have to wait for those, says his website, but hey, that's nothing a trip your local home improvement store or a little online shopping won't fix.
