Love Island's Zara Deniz announces split from Jordan Odofin

Love Island couple Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown and Jordan Odofin have announced they've split after two weeks of dating.

The pair posted almost identical statements on their Instagram Stories revealing the end of their relationship, with Zara's reading: "Hey everyone. Jordan and I would like to acknowledge the increasing public support for us to be seen as an exclusive couple.

"After a few dates since leaving the villa we know that we definitely get along and enjoy each other’s company. It’s been two and a half weeks of getting to know each other, and for now it’s a fun friendship between us.’

"We have a lot of respect for each other and that's what matters."

The couple didn't actually meet in the villa despite being on the same series, with Jordan entering the day after Zara was dumped.

Zara later told The Mirror's The Sunday People: "They [the producers] knew Jordan was my type before I even walked in. I left the villa thinking my dream man doesn't exist, and days after Jordan arrives. I understand they have storylines to follow but I deserved to find love."

The pair then got together after appearing on Love Island's sister show Aftersun, deciding to pursue a relationship after messaging simultaneously.

After meeting Jordan, Zara said: "I like that he is mature. After being in the villa, I just know there's not a lot of maturity from those boys. This is a grown man.

"The connection was just there. We spoke a lot about the show and how it would've been nice if we were matched on the show but these things happen. I think it just shows that we would be genuine in any environment."

Zara and Jordan's breakup came shortly after Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook, who almost made it to the finale, announced their split.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
