Summer has officially arrived, and if you’re still in need of the perfect pair of swim trunks, we've found a pair from Lululemon that shoppers are saying are the "perfect" pick.
Known for all things sporty, the brand's selection of men’s swimwear is small but mighty. Take for example the Channel Cross Swim Shorts, which have quickly become a go-to for many shoppers.
Available in both 7” and 5” lengths, the shorts are made from high-performance fabric that's ready for the ocean, the lake, or the hot tub.
Designed from a water-repellent and quick-drying material, these shorts are made entirely from recycled polyester for swimwear that not only looks good, but does good for the planet. Included in each pair is a breathable mesh fabric liner that’s crafted with four-way stretch made from Xtra Life Lycra for chlorine resistance.

An elastic drawstring waistband allows for an adjustable fit, while two side pockets and one back pocket provide plenty of storage room. They also feature a classic relaxed fit that gives extra room for legs to breathe, no matter whether you opt for the longer length or the shorter version.
'I can wear them anywhere'
Lululemon’s Channel Cross Swim Shorts are a hit among shoppers - as well as my own partner who has fallen for their ultra quick-drying fabric. Others agree, calling them the “perfect swim shorts” that have earned an average 3.9-star rating from hundreds of reviewers.
“I usually don't like swim shorts with liners, but this is my second pair of Channel Cross Swim Shorts. They dry quickly and are perfect for swimming, hot tubs, or just lounging at the beach. One big plus is that there are pockets on these shorts that are great to carry your keys or anything else,” shared one reviewer.
Some reviewers have noted that these make for a versatile pair of shorts that can easily take you from the beach or pool to the gym, letting them perform double duty in your wardrobe.
“I think these are the coolest ‘swim shorts’ I have ever seen. I actually wear them as gym shorts and casual shorts because of the fit, material, and pattern,” one person wrote. “The flexible material makes these shorts the alpha product for workout shorts and lounge shorts. They are comfortable and I can wear them anywhere.”

Despite all the praise for their comfortable stretch fabric and versatile design, some reviewers have found the lining inside the shorts to be on the snug side, particularly in the 5” version.
“These shorts are well built/designed, and fit the way a pair of swimming trunks should fit! The big knock on these (IMO) is the liner. I had them removed from a local Lululemon store... I’d recommend that Lululemon make a Boxer/brief style liner as opposed to the traditional underwear style liner,” reads one review.
Verdict
These $78 swim trunks tick all the boxes if you’re looking for a pair of shorts that offers comfortable all-day wear. They do have a fitted liner that may not be your preference, but reviewers note that these shorts work just as well even if you decide to have them removed.
