I’ll admit it, I was one of the those people when lockdown first started who preached to anyone who would listen about the benefits of getting dressed in the morning.
As someone who has worked from home on and off for years, it was always my number one rule: get dressed, you’re always more productive.
But as quarantine continued and I joined in with the sourdough bread baking, the Joe Wicks PE sessions and the nightly Netflix binges, getting dressed in the morning became less and less of a priority.
Finally, I had to concede, I wanted to wear the comfiest pieces in my wardrobe, the ones that felt like a constant hug.
Sadly, due to my own rule about getting dressed, I had very little loungewear in my wardrobe, so it was time to invest.
On the advice of a friend, I treated myself to the Seek Stillness MR Crop from luxe sports and loungewear brand, lululemon.
They’re wide-legged, have a wide elastic waistband and are, without a doubt, the least restrictive piece of clothing I’ve ever worn.
They are the closest I could to get to feeling naked while actually wearing clothes.
lululemon says the cropped joggers are ideal designed for morning meditation, afternoon naps, and all your other restorative practices, but I would argue their uses go far beyond this.
They’re perfect for baking in, for playing with children in and for nipping out to the bins in or slipping on with a pair of Birkenstocks for a trip to the supermarket.
Realising I needed a second pair, I headed back to the lululemon website this week and found that my trusty lockdown loungers were 40% off - so I couldn’t not share them with you.
Buy it: Seek Stillness MR Crop | Was £98, Now £59 from lululemon
If you weren’t sold already, let me tell you that the pockets are roomy and the fabric is so buttery soft that all my other clothes now feel abrasive.
lululemon also have several other pairs of joggers that look equally as comfortable and can be worn for all sorts of activities (hey, lounging is an activity!) and start at £49.
I’ve picked out some of my other favourites below.
