Fans of rapper Mac Miller were outraged as the 26-year-old was left out of the Emmy Awards 2018 In Memoriam tribute.

Mac, who was found dead in his home the San Fernando Valley at around noon on 7th September, didn’t appear alongside the likes of Aretha Franklin, Anthony Bourdain and Hugh Hefner in the traditional awards’ ceremony memoriam.

In the week since his passing, Miller's fans and friends have been extremely vocal about his legacy and influence, and were equally outspoken about his lack of inclusion during the ceremony.

NBC has not yet commented on the decision to leave Mac out of the segment.

Mac’s former girlfriend Ariana Grande should have been in attendance at the Emmys with finance Pete Davidson, but instead announced that she would be taking some time away from the spotlight to "heal" following the devastating news.

Her representative told : "Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight.

"Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York.

"Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend."

The spokesperson also revealed that she will be using the time away to make new music, adding: "She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding."

Ariana recently shared a touching tribute to Mac: “I adored you from the day i met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it.

Details on Mac's funeral are yet to be released.
