What Made Meghan and Harry Laugh in their Portrait
Just four days after the royal wedding, photographer Alexi Lubomirski is revealing what it was really like to take the official portraits of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their ceremony in an interview with Reuters.
The way Lubomirski describes capturing the gorgeous black-and-white photograph of the newlyweds sounds so romantic.
"It was just one of those magical moments, when you're a photographer and everything falls into place," he said.
"The sun is setting right just over the top of Windsor Castle just behind them, it was just the most serene, beautiful light, they're in love, walking around this beautiful garden," he continued.
"I said just before you go in, let's sit down on these stairs, and she just slumped in between his legs."
But in reality, the reason behind the bride and groom's expressions was so relatable:
"They were just laughing because they were joking about how they were exhausted and finally it was over."
Lubomirski also shared the secret behind Prince George's smile in those group photos. He didn't ask the young royal (who was looking a little shy earlier in the day) to say cheese, but rather he bribed the whole wedding party with Smarties, a candy in the U.K. that's rather similar to M&M's in the States.
"They were being bribed with one Smartie here, one Smartie there, so as soon as the kids came onto the set, I immediately just shouted out 'Who likes Smarties?' and then everybody, hands up, smiles, even some adults put their hands up," Lubomirski shared in that same interview with Reuters.
"Some parents were trying to wrangle their children, other uncles and aunts were talking to their nephews and nieces. It was a family, that was essentially what it is."
