All eyes were on Dame Helen Mirren at the fifth and final day of the Royal Ascot this past weekend.
The 72-year-old Oscar winning actress rubbed shoulders with the the Queen and senior members of the royal family to mark the closing of British high-society’s most prestigious event.
Mirren was on-hand to present the awards to the winner of the Hardwicke Stakes Cup, Crystal Ocean’s jockey Ryan Moore, and trainer Sir Michael Stoute.
The actress looked elegant in a floral dress by Dolce & Gabbana that adhered to the strict fashion guidelines of the ultra-chic horse-racing event.
This week’s episode of Make It Reign, is a deep dive into the Royal Ascot, from its origins in 1711 to the incredibly strict dress code guests have to follow.
The Ascot pride’s itself on its “traditional” dress code, which means formal and modest clothing for both men and women is required at all times.
Think you can sport a trendy fascinator for a day at the races? Think again – headpieces are permitted so long as they have a minimum of a 4-inch diameter base.
