The ‘man bun’ is the latest attraction to take over Disneyland

With more than 52,000 followers, manbunsofdisneyland has quickly become one of the hottest accounts to follow on Instagram. Blame society’s obsession with both the man bun — love it or hate it — and the Magic Kingdom, which will be celebrating it’s 45th anniversary this year.

The premise is simple; spot a man bun at Disney, snap a picture and then tag it or send it directly to the account. Only the most worthy man buns will be posted.

Man bun obsessions are nothing new. Other popular Instagram accounts that have cropped up in the last few years include manbunmonday with 204,000 followers and Manbun Lifestyle with 186,000 followers — there’s also DILFS of Disneyland with 358,000 followers for those who just like seeing dads at Disney.

Earlier this year, Details reported on a study by West Coast Shaving, which claimed “63 per cent of American women either dislike or outright hate the man-bun”. In addition, the study claimed, “58 per cent wouldn’t date a guy who wore his hair in a bun, and 74 per cent don’t think their current or former significant other would look attractive if he grew out his hair and put it up in a ball on top of his head.” Based on the popularity of these Instagram accounts, West Coast Shaving may need to run another study.
