Manifesters, new episodes are just on the horizon.

Shortly after NBC canceled Manifest last June, determined fans of the mystery plane drama rallied together and refused to let the show sink. Loyal viewers of the three-season series began a passionate online movement to have another network or streaming service pick it up. After weeks of signing petitions, rewatching the series on Netflix and keeping the #SaveManifest movement front and center on social media, fans were heard loud and clear.

In a twist of fate, on August 28 at 8:28 a.m. PT (a nod to the show's Flight 828), Netflix announced that Manifest will be returning for a fourth and final season. Fast forward, a year later, folks are more than ready to see season 4 arrive on the streaming platform.

While celebrating the resurrection of the show, here's what you need to know about Manifest season 4:

When is Manifest season 4 coming out?

As another special acknowledgement to the show's Flight 828, Netflix announced the release date of Manifest season 4 on August 28, 2022 at 8:28 a.m. PT. Manifest is officially coming back with season 4 on Friday, November 4 on Netflix. What's more, the streaming giant released a new minute-long teaser giving folks a glimpse at what's to come.

Viewers were also treated to a new poster for the upcoming Manifest season 4 part 1.

Earlier this summer, on June 6, fans got a sneak peek via a two-minute teaser shown at Netflix's Geeked Week. In the clip, Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) breaks into a cargo container. "Cherry blossoms. There you are," she says. While investigating its contents, a man reaches out toward her and the message "Stone 828" is inscribed on his arm.

Series creator Jeff Rake previously revealed that Manifest season 4 would be debuting in late 2022. Following the first teaser clip, he checked in with fans and reassured them that the wait would be worth it. "How about that trailer, Manifesters? Finally a nibble. Hang in there!" he tweeted on June 7.

According to Deadline, Manifest season 4 will be comprised of 20 episodes. What’s more, season 4 won’t be released all at once. According to the “What I’m Hearing…” newsletter by former Hollywood Reporter editor Matthew Belloni, the 20 episodes will be "split into at least two ‘parts’ a la Lucifer season 5.” It’s a change from the weekly schedule previously adopted by NBC and almost certainly will mean viewers will be left on a cliffhanger halfway through the season. Deadline later confirmed the news that Manifest season 4 part 1 will have 10 episodes.

Who will be in the cast of Manifest season 4?

According to Deadline, several of the Manifest cast members have struck deals with Netflix to reprise their characters. Those for sure coming back for season 4 include:

  • Melissa Roxburgh as Michaela Stone

  • Josh Dallas as Ben Stone

  • J.R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez

  • Parveen Kaur as Saanvi Bahl

  • Matt Long as Zeke Landon

  • Holly Taylor as Angelina Meyer

  • Luna Blaise as Olivia Stone

  • Ty Doran as an older version of Cal Stone

The outlet also reported that actress Athena Karkanis (who plays Grace Stone) will not come back after her character died in the season 3 finale Jack Messina (a.k.a. Cal) will also not return to the series.

What will season 4 of Manifest be about?

There aren't exact details about Manifest season 4's plotline. But fans were given the official description for the next batch of episodes. By the sounds of it, our favorite characters will be going on another rollercoaster of emotions and taking us for the ride.

"When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved," it reads, per Deadline. "Yet in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years — and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance."

It continues: "But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible in this emotionally rich, unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart, and destiny."

One thing is for certain though: Just because the drama is now on Netflix, doesn’t mean it'll change dramatically.

“The good news for the fans is that they can absolutely expect the same show that they've been watching,” Jeff told Entertainment Weekly in August 2021. “Netflix has been so lovely in my conversations with them so far. They've made it quite clear that they want us to keep making the same show that we've been making. The audience shouldn't be concerned that the tone of the show is going to shift, or the method of storytelling is going to shift. We're going to keep making the show that everyone fell in love with.”

He also hinted that the theme of “faith” will continue being part of the show.

Are there Manifest season 4 spoilers?

Yes, there are spoilers. Here's your chance to skip ahead to the next section!

Speaking with Netflix Life on June 2, actor Josh Dallas, who plays Ben Stone on the drama, opened up about what viewers can expect when Manifest season 4 comes out on Netflix. According to the Manifest cast member, there will be a time jump and his character will still be dealing with internal struggles.

“We begin the next season two years from where we left off season 3. So we’ve moved ahead in time,” Josh told the outlet. “Ben is an interesting, complicated character. He is very singular in the way that he thinks. Everything he does is absolutely for his family, and for the love of his family, and to protect his family. But because of that singular way of thinking that he has, it can sometimes start to alienate the people closest to him."

As for the rest of the crew, there is just as much to look forward to. "We’re eternally grateful and cannot wait for you to see what we have in store for you for these final 20 episodes," he added. "It’s going to blow your mind.”

Josh continued: "You’re going to see some interesting things from the characters you know and love. Some you’re going to see in ways that you’ve never seen them before. Of course, we’re going to find out more and more about what happened to them, and where they were as we get closer and closer to the finale, the end. It’s going to be a ride.”

Is Manifest really ending after season 4?

In an interview with Deadline, Netflix executive Jinny Howe confirmed that Netflix isn't eyeing a potential season 5.

“That is the plan currently [to end with season 4], at least in terms of whether there will be a satisfying resolution going into the season," she told the outlet. "By the end of the season, we’ll deliver some answers that's really, all the questions will be answered.”
