Mariah Carey and James Packer Have Reportedly Called It Quits
Less than one year since getting engaged, Mariah Carey and Australian billionaire James Packer have reportedly split. According to an unconfirmed report from Woman's Day Australia, Packer initiated the breakup over Carey's upcoming reality show and "extravagant" spending.
"James had huge reservations about Mariah's new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world," a source told the Australian tabloid.
The couple got engaged in January 2016 when Packer proposed to the singer with a 10-carat ring. Since then, tensions between Carey and Packer's family have reportedly been a major issue in the two's relationship along with her upcoming reality show, Mariah's World, which documents her Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour and wedding planning process.
Last weekend, Packer was a no-show at Carey's pre-Halloween party which she attended with ex-husband Nick Cannon and their two children.
Neither Carey nor Packer has yet to comment on these reports.
